Strong growth under Obama
It is news that President Obama has been waiting for; the US economy has grown 5.7 percent in the last three months, the quickest pace of economic expansion seen in the United States for six years.
The US economy expanded between October and December at a rate of 5.7 percent - a figure calculated on an annualised basis, which means it is compared to predictions based on past performance, and a big rise from the previous quarter's growth rate of 2.2 percent.
All indicators would seem to point that the US economy has left its year-long recession behind.Despite this boost however, the US GDP has shrunk by 2.4 percent over 2009 as a whole.
